Design
HP Elitebook x360 1040 G8 sports a beautiful, durable design with aluminum chassis that provides a premium feel and uncompromised rigidity, with the sharp edges giving the laptop an aggressive character.

HP has left the laptop with an anodized finish, which limits the fingerprints and smudges. The EliteBook is also portable, weighing only 1.31 kg while being around 16 mm tall.
When opened, the lid hosts a 14-inches screen with slimmer bezels on the top, sides, and bottom. It has an 89-percent screen-to-body ratio. The top bezel house a 720p HD camera for IR faces recognition system and the bottom host the company logo.

This HP laptop is a convertible built with a 360° hinge, which allows you to access four different setup modes from laptop to the tent, stand, or tablet mode, thus, making it efficient for all working environments. Once you flip the laptop into tablet mode, a set of magnets on the back of the lid keeps the chassis rigid.
The hinge holds the lid to the base chassis which hosts the HP Premium Keyboard with spill-resistant and backlit function. It has a travel of about 1.4 mm with different function keys. There is also a smooth and responsive clickpad with multi-touch gesture support. And an NFC coil is built to the top right corner of the touchpad.
